Jay and Amelia's wedding

Brian and I are so fortunate to have such great friends and this weekend we were invited to share a special event - Jason Porter and Amelia Herschberger's wedding. It was an amazing day and everything turned out gorgeous. Jay beamed with happiness and Amelia radiated with beauty- I am so happy we were there to witness the beginning of their married life!

Evie was able to spend some time with our friends Chris and Jen - Chris was trying to share some wisdom with her already.

Overall it was a great day with wonderful friends, phenomenal food, and an amazing atmosphere. Once again, Congratulations Jay and Amelia!!

33.5 Weeks

As you can see from the above pictures - Evie and I were once again spoiled rotten. My Co-workers/Friends threw me another Baby shower two weeks ago after our monthly Sales meeting and we received a ton of wonderful gifts and Evie is really all set for her arrival. My work BFF, Tina, made Evie a beautiful picture with her name on it - I already have it hung in the nursery. I also received an awesome monitor (from all of my coworkers) that will keep track of Evie's movements while she is in her crib - I will be able to leave her alone to sleep with peace of mind. Our little family is very lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives!
We started our birthing class last week and have now gone to two of them. I love the teacher - she is this older nurse that just loves her job, pregnant women and babies. She has been very helpful in learning what will happen to me and Evie in a couple of weeks and has made the impending adventure a little less scary. Brian seems to enjoy the classes too but he usually gets stuck massaging my back most of it so it is not as relaxing for him. We get to take a tour of Bellevue next week so I am wicked excited about that- I want to see where Evie will come into this world. We are learning some great relaxation techniques and I feel more confident that I can bring Evie into the world vaginally and without drugs. I have had several weeks where I thought it might be easier to just arrive, get drugged up and have them cut her out but after the first class I knew that wasn't really the way I want her to arrive.
I had a doctor's appt today and we are both healthy and happy. Evie is measuring a little small (around 32 weeks, so 1.5 weeks behind) but I am not worried - a smaller baby will be easier to deliver. Her heartbeat sounds great and she is head down but slightly tilted to the side (oblique). I am carrying a little lower but Evie has not dropped into the birthing position yet. I will have an ultrasound in two weeks to make sure she is in the correct position and to accurately measure her. Overall I am doing great for being a month to a month and half from delivering our precious little girl.

Nursery Pics

Remi inspecting Evie's room - this used to be his room and he is not happy that he has to share with someone else. He luckily hasn't jumped into the crib so I am hoping he won't want to when Evie is sleeping in there.

I can't wait to rock Evie to sleep in the glider - it is sooo comfortable!

This is Brian's dresser from his house that we painted and made into a changing table.

Evie will hopefully sleep very well in this wonderful crib with the blanket I made for her.
We have a few more decorations to add but overall I am done with the nursery and have washed and put away all of Evie's clothes (sizes 0-6 months). Now Brian and I can relax and wait for Evie to arrive.

31 Weeks = Big Belly

I am 31 weeks pregnant this week and we are growing by leaps and bounds. I have gained about 25 pounds overall and hope to keep it under 35 pounds. Evie is about 16 inches long and weighing in around 3.5 pounds. Other than some minor, annoying allergy issues and being tired we are extremly healthy and happy.
