26 Weeks and Jeans

I finally broke down in my 25th week of pregnancy and bought a pair of jeans - my body has not fit into jeans for 3 months. As many of you know Maternity clothes are very expensive but I was fortunate to have a sister-in-law that saved all of her clothes for me - it is unfortunate that Samantha is 4 inches shorter than me so I had some trouble with the pants. I have not had to buy many shirts but I did not fit into any of her jeans so I finally broke down and spent a small fortune on a pair of jeans that I hope will fit for the rest of this pregnancy. As you can see from the above picture I am still expanding but my belly button has not popped out yet- it is getting closer though. I was asked last weekend if I was due soon and almost started crying when I had to explain that I still have 3 months to go. I don't think I look that big yet but I can't imagine three more months of growing, strectching and expanding in all areas of my body. I have not gained too much weight - I fluctuatue between 13 and 16 pounds for the entire pregnancy.
Brian finished the floors upstairs and they came out gorgeous - I am married to a very talented man. We get to move everything back into the bedroom tomorrow and I am very excited to be sleeping in my own bedroom instead of the living room. We just have to order the carpet and get Evie's room painted and we will be all set to decorate the nursery. I have found that I am very frustrated with my inablitiy to help with these projects but I have decided today (after a complete hormonal breakdown) that I am giving up. If there is a project that needs to be completed before Evie arrives I will be asking for help and not attempting to do it myself. On that note, if anyone is bored I have plenty of work to hand out:)

24 Weeks -Belly Button Obsession

My new obsession is my belly button! It seems to be getting very close to popping out of my belly, which has completely freaked me out. You would think the imminent stretch marks, or the cellulite on my butt and thighs or the impending pain of birth would have my attention – No it is my belly button. It looks so funny and at times itches or hurts. I sit with my belly hanging out every night and watch or play with my belly button – I am not sure what has prompted this obsession but I hope to get over it soon. I have even started having nightmares where my belly button pops out and then falls off – how gross!!
We have started the flooring project in the upstairs and will keep everyone updated on the progress. I hope to have the floors completed by the end of next weekend so we can install the carpet in Evie’s room. I went to Michaels last week and purchased a ton of crafty items to decorate her nursery and I can’t wait to get started. I have begun to crochet an afghan for Evie and I look forward to sharing a pic with everyone.
I realized today that we only have 16 weeks left to go – I am so excited but feel a bit overwhelmed. I don’t feel like we are ready at all because the nursery is not even started but I am trying to take it one day at a time. I am sure we will get it done soon- I guess this is the nesting part of the pregnancy.
Evie and I are still very healthy. She is moving around all of the time, which has caused sleeping to be an issue for me. I wake up because she kicked me and then can’t go back to sleep because I love feeling her move and don’t want to miss it. My feet and legs have started to swell and ache already – I am not loving this but have learned to put my feet up when they get too bad and I have cut out as much salt as possible. Other than that I am feeling great and still love being pregnant – I can’t imagine life without little Evie inside of me! As you can see from the pics my stomach is growing by leaps and bounds and will only continue, which is all due to Evie’s amazing growth spurts. In the next four weeks she will double in weight –going from 1 pound to over 2 pounds. I believe I have gained 10 pounds but it fluctuates so much that I am never really sure.

22 weeks and Projects

I am 22 weeks along this week and still loving being pregnant! Evie is moving around like crazy lately - Sour Patch kids are probably helping this:) My feet have begun to swell and ache occasionally and I seem to be getting tired more easily but other than that I feel great. My weight gain is still within reason and I am still going to the gym a couple of times a week.
I have started my registry at Babies R Us and Target and I am so excited about all the cute girly stuff out there. I have not completed the registry because I spend hours online every night researching the best products for our little one but hope to have it done the 2nd week of March. Any suggestions as to what is really needed and what happens to be useless would be greatly appreciated. We have signed up for a birthing class at Bellevue Hospital - I am really excited about this because I have realized that I don't have any idea what I am doing.
Brian and I have been discussing all the projects that need to be completed before Evie arrives and it seems like a lot. We have to re-finish the floors in the upstairs hallway and our bedroom - this has to be completed before the baby arrives because the stain and polly and mess will not be good for her. We have to carpet the spare bedroom floors, paint and decorate the nursery and I want to Spring clean the whole house. We also need to put on a new roof sometime this summer (Thanks to Aunt Sharon and Guy we will have lots of help on this project). It seems like this list of projects changes from day to day and Brian has told me I am not allowed to utter the words "honey I have been thinking" because it just leads to more projects:).
For now I am going to relax and enjoy the last weeks of winter because once spring arrives we will be very busy!
