19th Week- Boy or Girl

Our 20 week ultrasound is one week away and the question on everyone’s lips is “do you want a boy or a girl?” I have been giving the “PC” answer – we don’t care as long as the baby is healthy and I am going to stick to that answer. When I think of having a daughter I get really excited because the clothing and accessories are so cute, she will be the first granddaughter on both sides, I want that special “Mother/Daughter” bond and I want Brian to have "daddy's little girl". When I think of having a little boy I get really excited because there are really cool boy toys, he will be one of the first boys in our group of friends, I want Brian to have that special "Father/Son" bond and I want to have a little Momma's boy. I do hope to have both - a boy and girl -sometime in the future but we have plenty of time and plan on having more than one child (Brian wants only two, whereas I would go for three- maybe we will have twins in the second round).
Another question is "Don't you want to be surprised?" Yes, I do want to be surprised - I am just going to be surprised in a week instead of waiting 20 more weeks. The main reason I want to find out early is because I feel like I will be able to appreciate it more sitting in a doctor's office, relaxed and well rested instead of after hours of intense labor and a painful delivery. I think the only thing I will want to know after the birth is the health of our little one - the sex will not matter. I am also a planner - I plan and organize everything in advance so I feel like knowing the sex will help with that and will decrease my anxiety. Brian is also very excited about finding out the sex and I think this will help him bond more with the baby while in utero.
So, in one week I will let everyone know if our little monster is a she or a he:)
