My Sweety

Evie and I experience a truly touching moment last night! Evie was sitting on my lap, looking at me when she grabbed my glasses off my face and smudged her tiny little prints all over them. I couldn't wipe them off because I needed both hands for her so I decided to just take them off. This was the first time in 6.5 months that Evie has really seen me without my glasses on. I am pretty blind without them so I put them on the minute I wake up and only take them off to shower or go back to bed. I even wear them if Evie and I are taking a nap together - just in case I need to see her quickly. Once she realized that my glasses were off she gave me the most amazed look- she just sat there starring and smiling at me as if I did the best trick ever. We sat like this for 30 minutes or more, Evie studying my face, giving me shy smiles and leaning in to caress my cheek, pull my hair or lick my chin (she wanted to make sure I still tasted like mommy). It was a beautiful moment that is still making me smile today!
We also shared another moment last night that almost made me pee my pants. I was carrying Evie past our bathroom mirror and she smiled at her reflection, which she almost always does but this time something made her laugh. So, I stopped and let her take the time to really look at our reflection. She got really excited and started bouncing on my hip and I started bouncing with her and she started belly laughing. She just cracked up for five minutes and i am still not sure if it was her reflection (her hair was defying gravity better than most days), my reflection (not sure if I want my reflection to make anyone laugh that hard), or the bouncing but it doesn't matter because it was freaken awesome.
Evie is also picking items up with a purpose now. She was able to pick something up but didn't really understand why she was doing it. Now she picks her toys up to either shove in her mouth, throw on the floor or hit an inattentive parent in the face. It is so amazing how quick things are happening now - one moment she is laying on the floor like a lump and the next she is sitting up and playing with her toys. She is also developing a very strong opinion as to what she would like to be doing with her time. If she is bored or not happy with her position she makes this god awful whining noise and I am not sure how to break her of this. I really don't want a spoiled brat so we will have to do something if it continues but I am hoping it is just a stage that is caused by the pain of teething. By the way, still NO teeth!!!!!!!!!
