Update

I have decided to stop focusing on the teething situation (Still NO teeth but lots of symptoms) and comment on Evie's progress. In two weeks she will turn 7 months old, which just amazes me!! She is still growing at an amazing rate and the Dr. has promised that it will slow down at some point but I don't see it. I am guessing she is over 20 pounds and closing in on 30 inches long- someone commented this weekend that Evie should be walking and talking because she looks like a toddler. I am able to shove her into 9 month clothing but find 12 month so much more comfortable. We had to buy a convertible car seat because she no longer fits in her infant one- we did choose a seat that goes up to 100 pounds, can face forward or backward and will turn into a booster when needed. The only thing we don't like about the next stage car seat is it doesn't have a base so it is hard to change it from one vehicle to the other- I guess who ever is driving with Evie will have to take the Mazda.
Evie rolled for the first time a couple of weeks ago but has only done it a couple of times since then - she doesn't seem to see a reason to be mobile because the world comes to her. We have tried to make her more motivated by putting toys just out of reach and making her get them but she isn't interested - she rather watch mommy fetch! She is able to sit on her own for lengthy amounts of time and is attempting to sit up. I will be holding her and can feel her stomach muscle straining to get her in an upright position. She also likes to stand with someone supporting her and she absolutely loves bouncing on my knee. I have found since she began teething she doesn't like to be in her bouncer or walker - she just wants to be held and will whine until I pick her up. Brian and I are hoping are independent, happy baby comes back soon and that this is not a permanent personality change.
Evie still smiles easily - a goofy face or funny noise will cause her face to brighten right up. Getting her to giggle is a little bit harder but Brian and I know her ticklish spots and can usually get a couple rounds in each night. Her favorite thing is when I sing "You are my Sunshine"- it doesn't matter what kind of mood she is in when I start to sing she just smiles up at me.
She is eating up almost anything we have tried. There is one Earth's Best dinner combo she doesn't like and I tried to grind pork chops and rice and that did not go over well. Last night I made pea soup and she gobbled that up - it is soo cute when she likes something because she will eat with such gusto and make a "MMMMM" sound. I am trying to get three meals in a day but find it very hard to fit them all in. Evie is too tired when she first wakes up to eat a real meal so we just give her a bottle and then rush her off to the sitter- where she receives lunch and then I feed her dinner when I get home from work. There are just not enough hours in the day!
Evie also needed to get her bangs trimmed for the first time. Well, I am freakin cheap and wasn't going to pay someone to do it, so I attempted it and lets just say it is a little uneven. I was so afraid to have the sharp scissors near her face so I just pulled it up and snipped some off. I am pretty sure she won't let me do it when she finally has a say in it:)
On the home front, Brian has been working on our basement and turning it into a gym. He had to rip out a lot of old wood and paint anything that was staying. He had to rewire a lot of the lights and put new ones in and has had to clean up a lot. We just need to paint the basement floor and we will be all set to start working out. I was able to purchase a used treadmill for $100 and Brian received some weights and machines from family. We have been eating healthy for 3 weeks now and since laying off the Holiday sweets - I have gotten back to my pre-pregnancy weight:) Now I just have to find time to exercise and I may fit into my pre-pregnancy summer clothes.

  1. Evie looked sooo cute the other day when I saw you in TJ Maxx! What a little angel! She is totally flying past Cecilia's development as she still won't roll over and won't eat off of a spoon! Stubborn little thing.

I hope to see you soon! Thanks for the updates!
