Snow Day!

Brian and I were not aware that it was going to snow like crazy last night so when we awoke to 12 inches+ there was lots of sighing, swearing, complaining about the northeast and then phone calls into work. Of course the 6 inches of water in our basement lead to as much sighing, swearing and complaining as the snow!! Evie's first words are probably going to make us twitch instead of smile due to our lack of control around her. After the initial grumpiness the day turned into a cuddle fest with Evie and I taking two naps on the couch and a lot of play time. I had every toy Evie owns out on the floor and I had as much fun exploring them as her. She is now taking her toys and hitting them together to see what sounds they make. It is so funny to see her pick up a stuffed animal and a plastic toy, smack them together and then look at me with wonder on her face - where is the sound, Mommy? Of course, this all started when I handed her my metal measuring cups from the kitchen - there has been hours of her smacking them together and hitting everything in reach to hear the noise. Her adorableness knows no bounds! There are still no teeth but she seems to be getting used to the pain or it has subsided for now. She has gotten back to her wonderful sleep schedule of bedtime at 8:30 and awake at 6:30, which has been awesome- I don't know what we are going to do if the second baby doesn't sleep. We joke all the time that the next baby will come out with teeth but won't sleep for the first year but really isn't funny - 5 months of teething gets old quick and neither of us do well with no sleep.
